Esam Al-Falasi is the Director of the IT Department at the UAE Ministry of Economy. In this role, he is responsible for managing technology infrastructure and applications for various agencies and departments within the Ministry. Al-Falasi is also the Program Manager for the Ministry’s IT projects such as the Electronic Commodity Management System, Central Business License System, eServices migration, and Strategic Management System. Al-Falasi’s efforts in implementing appropriate, innovative and cost effective solutions to achieve competitive excellence based on the TOGAF methodology have enabled the Ministry of Economy to keep pace with latest developments in the IT domain. He has also implemented highly effective IT frameworks that have served as a catalyst in driving the Ministry of Economy’s exponential growth over the past decade. Holding extensive experience of more than 25 years in the IT space, Al-Falasi was earlier involved in the technology integration of different strategic projects in Dubai such as the introduction of the Toll system ‘Salik’ and the Nol Card. Al-Flassi is also one of the founder-developers of the ‘Dubai the Image’ initiative that was launched to highlight the exceptional services provided by the government departments in Dubai through capturing on-the job images and video footage. Esam Al-Falassi is a regular keynote speaker at the premium telecommunications event GITEX. He has also led the Ministry of Economy’s participation at key local and regional events, and successfully achieved 100% smart services migration. In 2010, he successfully completed the Government Leaders Program under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) and in 2017; he got his diploma in Innovation from Cambridge University. Esam Al Falasi holds a (PHD in Management) from India from ALFalah University, (Master in International Business) from (Wollongong University) and Bhs in computer science, information system management from Southeastern University, US.

Dr. Sabri Al-Azazi

Executive Director, Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship

Dr. Sabri Al-Azazi is a technologist and a scientist with over 23 years of experience in the IT and Information Security industries. He brings a broad and diverse level of expertise to his organizations.
 
Currently, Dr. Al-Azazi is the Executive Director of the Central operations sector at Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA). Before that he was the EVP/Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Al Hilal bank. Dr. Sabri also held a senior position in the local government of Abu Dhabi as the Senior Advisor for IT and Technology at the General Management Office of the Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) and the Sr. Advisor of Technology for the Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs. Dr. Al-Azazi moved to ADM/DMA from Dubai Holding, where he served as Chief Information Officer of Dubai Holding for five years. Prior to this, he held different senior roles in Dubai Holding such as the Chief Operations officer (COO) of EHDF (a security services subsidiary of TECOM Investments). Additionally, he worked in different key and executive technology roles in prestigious organizations in the country including Etisalat and Zadco, the UAE Army’s IT systems unit.
 
Dr. Al-Azazi remains active in both the industry and the academia. He has been teaching courses in informations security and IT as adjunct professor at both the American University of Sharjah and the University of Wollongong in Dubai.  In addition, he was a visiting researcher at Cranfield University in United Kingdom for two years. As part of his personal research interest, Dr. Sabri has conducted research in quantum electrodynamics theory and fields such as quantum computer computations and quantum cryptography through reading academic researches and literatures in addition to various books of the field. Currently he is research is focusing on the dark matter/Astrophysics, cosmology and the General relativity theory and the unified theory combining all forces of the universe.  Dr. Sabri also tends to focus on Research and Development (R&D) in all areas related to technologies and innovation. He encourages his staff to build labs and spend time in researching and simulating issues in order to spawn new ideas and methodologies which may lead to inventions and patents.
 
Dr. Al-Azazi attained his PhD in early 2008 from the School of Applied Sciences at Cranfield University in Great Britain, based on his thesis ‘A multi layer model for e-government information security assessment.’ He holds an Executive MBA from the American University of Sharjah and a Bachelor degree from Washington State University in Computer Engineering and Computer Science.

Malik Al Madani

Malik Almadani is the Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Strategy and Future Department at the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority. Malik also leads the Secretariat of the UAE National SDGs Committee to develop and implement the UAE Sustainable Development Goals Strategy.
 
Malik has developed expertise and experience in a number of areas including competitiveness, sustainability, government development, international relations in addition to financial services regulation and Islamic finance.  His previous experience includes working government and semi government entities including, the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of State Office and the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
 
Malik holds a BBA from the American University of Dubai and a Diploma in Government Innovation from the University of Cambridge. Malik also graduated from prestigious government programs including the UAE Government Future Foresight program and the 4th Industrial Revolution Program by the University of Oxford in coordination with the UAE Prime Minister’s Office.

Meshal Abdulla Binhussain is the Information Technology Director at the Ministry of Finance with responsibility for driving the digital transformation initiatives and enhancing the services provided to public customers, federal entities and decision makers via the use of emerging technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and robotics.
 
Prior to joining the ministry of finance, Meshal held the position of Vice President of Information Security & Operations at Dubai Holding overseeing Information Security, infrastructure and Data Center management efforts and initiatives across Dubai Holding and its subsidiaries.
 
Before that, Meshal Binhussain worked in Information Security and Incident Response at several companies, including the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Department of Naturalization & Residency-Dubai (DNRD) and (Etisalat).
 
He received his Master’s of Science degree in Information Security from Khalifa University

Amer Sharaf is the Director of Compliance Support and Alliances at the Dubai Electronic Security Center based in the Emirates of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Amer has accumulated a diverse set of skills in his career in the Information Technology field successfully delivering key applications and infrastructure related projects. His experience also extends to deploying resilient and highly available data centers catering to key critical systems. Amer has considerable experience on city level systems and adopting several disruptive technologies and ensuring that key security principles and technologies are adopted.

Role
His current roles involves ensuring Government Departments adopt the Dubai Information Security Regulation and any other standard that may be developed in the future in addition to auditing their compliance to those standards. This is achieved through a rigorous communications and actions plan and awareness sessions conducted directly with all the entities. The role also involves establishing and maintaining relationships with similar entities on both nationally and internationally.

Khawar Fayaz is technically heading Network , Data Center and Collaboration in ABUDHABI Municipality. During his tenure in ADM along with the support of visionary ADM management have succeeded in building and designing a complete Software Defined Data Center ,Software-Defined WAN, Defense in Depth Integrated Security Fabric Model,WIFI-6 connectivity . Under his technical guidance ADM is working on building UAE’s first Tier 4 Uptime Facility Certified Data Center. Other initiatives he is working closely is on Open Stack Networking Model and Microsegmentation. All these innovations have put ADM in a strong position to host multiple entities within Abudhabi as their service provider.

Eman Mohamed Al Khayyal

Eng. Eman Alkhayyal, SEWA’s Chief Information Officer and Information & Communication Technology Manager, she has Bachelor of science in Computer Engineering from Sharjah University and Master in Information Technology Management and Governance form Canadian University of Dubai, in additional to different diploma programs such as Organization Development Diploma , Japanese Management Diploma –KAIZEN, …and currently doing “SEWA Excellence Diploma Program” from  American University of Sharjah.

Alkhayyal’s appointed end of 2014 as an IT Manager, and on 2015 she lunched SMART SEWA 2020 initiatives along with the transformation journey plan for IT. In 2016 she has been given “chief information officer” title and has been selected for her distinguish achievements to be within the top 25 performer SEWA employees.

She leaded the Green Bill Campaign on 2016 which aimed to digitize SEWA’s monthly bills by developing public awareness and simulate community participation in the conversation of natural resources, promote sustainability and preserved for the new generation, for that SEWA received two awards the first from Gov Award 2017– IT green initiatives category, and the 2nd from Oracle Excellence Award 2017: Sustainability Innovation category from San Francisco. She also is heading PR committee in AL AMAL camp since 2008 and a member of the organizing team, this camp is an annual event by Sharjah City for humanitarian services. Currently she is heading SEWA WAY team, the champions behind developing SEWA strategy map and aligning 35 + business units with SEWA 2020 vision and strategy.

Rami Al-Haddad, Group Chief Information Officer, heads all Information Technology functions at NAS, including Infrastructure, connectivity, systems, cybersecurity, and user support, as well as digital transformation, business intelligence and innovation.

Rami joined NAS in 2013 as Director - IT, taking on strategic initiatives to transform the role of IT from a supporting function to a business enabler, and from a cost center to a profit center.

During his tenure, Rami was instrumental in revolutionizing the impact of IT to give NAS a competitive advantage. This included expanding NAS portfolio of services to offer technology solutions, deploying multi-million dollars revenue generating services, and introducing innovative technologies to enable NAS growth at minimal cost and lead-time. Furthermore, under his leadership, NAS developed a number of world class ecommerce platforms connecting travelers with airport service provider across the globe.

NAS IT achievements are repeatedly highlighted through several prestigious recognitions and awards including; ISO 20000 for IT service management, ISO 27001 for information security, ISO 22301 for business continuity, 2017 Aviation ICT deployment of the year, 2015 best airport mobile app of the year, and 2017 CIO 100.

She has more than 18 years of experience in both technical and managerial role in IT field. She has started her career in Dubai Municipality as a System Administrator. After that, she became the Head of the Internet Operations Unit, where she was responsible and managing Dubai Municipality online services infrastructure. In 2008, she became head of Information Systems Security Section to manage all Information security matters in Dubai Municipality, after that she was Head of development section.  Then she moved to Zayed University as IT director, finally she joined Dubai health authority as IT directory since September 2014.
 
She holds B.SC. In Computer Sciences from Ajman university , Master in Computing and  Information System from Hull University in UK, Master in Quality Management from University of Wollongong in Dubai, and Executive Diploma in  Public Administration  from Lee Kuan Yew university in Singapore.  She also has graduated from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership. Currently she is doing her PHD in business administration in Dubai University.

Hala Alhashmi is the Head of IT in Sharjah National Oil Corporation, and has an MSc in Business IT from Kingston University in the UK,  and is a graduate of the American University of Sharjah from where she obtained her BS in Computer Engineering. After graduation Hala joined BP International and completed a specialized program for future leaders, that included assignments in Abu Dhabi and Canada. Hala’s experience in oil and gas also involved an assignment with Petrofac in the UAE. Hala continued building her leadership skills by taking part in the Sharjah Leadership Program attending sessions at Stanford University and visiting Silicon Valley. She is a co-founder of a startup called Shifaa- a non-profit pharmaceutical enterprise. Hala’s leadership talent extends beyond work to support her passion for health and fitness, as part of this she attended the Hamdan Sports Leadership Program. Hala is a strong believer in work life balance and enjoys riding and competes in dressage.

Abdullah is a supervisor in Saudi Aramco Corporate Data Center. His experience in data center industry was well demonstrated via leading several major projects, energy efficiency initiatives, and new technology deployments. He has several international technical publications in data center arc flash mitigations, battery systems and DC technology. Abdullah was a speaker in different data center related conferences such as Data Center World by AFCOM, IEEE conferences in China and Italy. Was recognized as one of the top four young mission critical engineers of the years 2017 & 2018 in data center industry by Data Center Dynamics Global Award.

He has Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and master degree in Engineering Management and hold several professional certificates in data center management and electrical engineering disciplines.

Eng. Elham AL Shehhi received Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from University of Sharjah and is currently heading Infrastructure and Networking Section at Sharjah Economic Development Department. A strong advocate for Governance Processes and cutting-edge technology, she involves her team members in dozens of projects related to ISO standard, Networking and Information Security, and Storage and Computing.

Her professional interests focus on assuring that Confidentiality, Availability, and Integrity are provisioned and maintained by complying to ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and ISO 20000-1 processes, and her current projects include Securing the network by adapting Scalable and Secure VDI solution.

In addition, she serves as Emergency and Continuity Manager for Sharjah Economic Development Department, and is a member of IT Change Advisory Board. She was recently honored with The Excellence Award of the Distinguished Head of Section for her contributions to aachieving ISO 22301 Certificate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.

Prior to Panduit, Michael worked with Varian Instruments and was part of the team that looked after the supply and support of a range of spectrometers mainly used for chemical analysis.

He is the proud father of an 18-year-old daughter. When not at work, Armand likes to spend his time outdoors, doing rock climbing, or playing golf.

Hanin AlMuhallabi is the Technical Infrastructure Head in Sharjah RTA. She began her career as a Network Engineer where her UAE University bachelor’s degree was based on. She got her master’s degree in computer engineering from American University of Sharjah (AUS). She has presented two main papers in two conferences: The Second IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics and Computer Systems (CIICS), and The International Conference on Testing Software and Systems (ICTSS). Any successful plan is playing a strong role in having business requirements knowledge along with being updated with the latest technologies, researches, and education.

Safdar Zaman, a recognized ICT leader with more than 18 years’ experience in IT Processes, IT Security, Project Management, Big Data and  IT Governance. Safdar Zaman is currently the Head of IT Strategy and Governance in Nakheel PJSC, a leader in developing iconic innovative landmark projects in Dubai where he successfully drafted and executed a turnaround strategy to transform IT from predominantly service delivery to a strategic business enabler.

Safdar started his career in Banking Software Company and has served different technical and managerial positions and advanced to the position of IT Strategy and Governance Head. During his 18 years career he participated in numerous challenging initiatives across cloud computing, Big Data, Virtualizations, Security, ERP, Business Processes Enhancements (Lean Six Sigma) and business transformations. He has successfully managed several innovative and challenging projects across Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Hospitality and services sectors.

Safdar holds in addition to PGMP, PMP, ITIL, COBIT, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CISSP, ISO27001, ISO2000, CISSP, CEH certificates and a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

Leonardo Favero, a graduate in mechanical engineering and MBA from CUOA, has been responsible for Climaveneta Spa of the HPAC business unit for 6 years, which includes both air conditioning for telephone exchanges and air conditioning for Datacenters. Since 1997, deputy head of customer service at CastelMac S.p.a., in 2001 he enters the world of precision conditioning, becoming Head of After Sales at Uniflair. In 2004 he joined De'Longhi as project leader of the telephony division, where he coordinates the start-up activities of the new range, the definition of product specifications, the coordination of the bodies in charge and the analysis of the market and distribution, to pass in 2005 to hold the current position in Climaveneta, the main De'Longhi group company in the professional sector.

Leonardo Favero, mechanical engineer and MBA, is the IT Cooling Segment Sales Director in Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems SpA.  He has over 15 years of experience in the HVAC industry applied to IT cooling and mission critical applications. After an experience as After Sales Manager in Uniflar, in 2004 he joined the De’Longhi group as Project Leader for Telecom division, where he managed the start-up of this new business, from market analysis, to product specifications and coordination of operations and distribution.  In 2005 with the handover of the Telecom division from De’Longhi to Climaveneta Spa, the group company specialised in HVAC and HPAC, he took full responsibility of Data Center and Telecom Applications cooling business as HPAC business unit director, until Climaveneta entered the Mitsubishi Electric Group in 2016.
